Fiddlesticks Does Not Disappoint
Fiddlesticks was a rainy evening in Canterbury perch that did not disappoint. The restaurant/bar was selected because seafood was on the menu. And, there were 3 main dishes to choose from. The midwek special was unusual -- Hake with prawns and calamari in a marinara sauce, which was surprisingly delicious as was the Akaroa salmon. the steak was yummy too. And all accompanied by a 2º pinot noir from Otago that was quite fine too. Dessert of homemade maple almond and carrot cake ice cream most sweetly was the perfect finish.
Fiddlesticks Dinner Review
My wife her brother and his wife and I dined at Fiddlesticks on Wednesday 12th evening for my wife’s birthday. The service was outstanding and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening there. The food was - as always - next level and we couldn’t fault anything that night. Although we hadn’t been there for a few months the new menu was comprehensive and catered for all tastes. The wait staff were very knowledgeable and very prompt and very polite with their service. This is our most preferred venue to dine in in the city and. We will be back again soon for another celebratory evening Please pass in our grateful thanks to the staff for their service and to chef and team for fantastic meals Thanks and we look forward to going back again soon
Favorite restaurant in Christchurch!
This is a fine-dining house with a very relaxed, pub-like vibe and we had a WONDERFUL dinner here! Unlike many restaurants in NZ, Fiddlesticks serves normal-size portions (most restaurants we visited served enough for 2 or 3)! My fish Main was served with roasted whole carrots and beetroot hummus … and a feta emulsion that still makes my mouth water! Our server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Oh, and their house wine was delish!
Wonderful
Great service, friendly and fast, beautiful decor and an upfront menu. The cocktails were amazing! The food was delicious and presented like a 5-Star Michelin restaurant! Our server, Jasmine, was super friendly and patient, polite and professional. She had multiple tables including a 15 top arriving shortly and was more than able to make sure our food was promptly delivered and picked up, drinks were served and that we enjoyed our meals.
Great atmosphere on a Sunday late afternoon
We happened across The Little Fiddle while wandering around the area soon after arriving in Christchurch. There was a small group of people playing Irish music in a corner booth, while we sat and enjoyed a drink or two and a tasty share platter. Lovely atmosphere.
Wonderful ambiance, delicious food
We popped in on a Sunday night about 7pm and it was very busy but the kindly gave us a table for 50 minutes- which was fine by us. Great ambience, wonderful staff and we found it hard to to choose. We landed on several entrees. Best decision as we could try lots of things. All were delicious
